» Non-Accepted Empty Toner Cartridges

Our free-to-use UK Empty Toner Cartridge Service accepts most cartridges, to help the environment and raise funds for charities.

Unfortunately, not all donors can collect the 12 'valuable' cartridges, which we require in order to offer our service and a free courier pickup due to the costs involved.

In these circumstances, please read this guide to find a number of solutions, and to ensure that you dispose of your cartridges in an environmentally-friendly way.

Please do not under any circumstances send toner cartridges to the Freepost address.

Solutions that Benefit Our Charities

Team Up With Others Locally

If you cannot collect 12 valuable toner cartridges on your own, you could act as a collection point for local businesses or individuals.

Got any Ink Cartridges?

Normally we ask that ink cartridges are donated in a completely separate way, using our Empty Ink Cartridge Service, as this raises considerably more money for every ink cartridge sent.

However, sometimes ink cartridges can be used to count towards the 12-cartridge requirement in a way that overall raises more money, and helps you more because we can help move your toner cartridges too.

If this applies, please email us with full details [quantities, manufacturers and model numbers] of the cartridges you have, and we'll see if it's possible to arrange something.

Next Best

The next best solution is to take your cartridges to a local charity shop. Many have toner cartridge collection boxes, and will accept almost any variety of cartridges.

Return to Manufacturer

Many cartridge manufacturers have take-back schemes that will accept cartridges they manufactured in order to responsibly dispose of or reuse them.

Please note that you should not send them cartridges that have been made under a different brand or refilled, and they will not give funds to charities in the process - so always use our service if you have qualifying cartridges in future.

Finally

If none of the other options apply, it's your responsibility under environmental legislation to arrange for the waste to be managed by a registered waste handler, for which there would usually be a fee.

Officegreen can offer such a service - please contact them on 08700 50 20 50 to arrange for disposal of waste items.
